What is a Cancer Treatment Coach? 

When you receive your cancer diagnosis, you will be referred to a cancer doctor or Oncologist. Sometimes those consultations, the testing and treatment decisions can take several weeks. Till these issues are resolved you are in a state of uncertainty without answers to your questions. Connecting with a qualified oncologist can help advise you on the possible treatment options and provide reliable resources you can use. 

Dr Gauri Bhide is a Medical Oncologist, and has had the privilege of caring for Cancer patients for more than 20 years. She has worked in the Boston, MA area, associated both with Community Cancer Centers and Tertiary Referral Centers.

In addition, she has had the opportunity to help family and friends overseas, and in the US,  evaluate their cancer treatment plans, providing coaching as well as second opinion consultations. 

She was born in Mumbai, India, and attended Bombay University at Seth G.S.Medical College.  She then moved to the United States, where she did her residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. She did her Oncology and Hematology Fellowship training at Boston University and the Boston VA Medical Center in Boston, MA. She is Board Certified in Medical Oncology, and has kept current with Re-Certifications and current Oncology Practice. 

Because of her background and experience, she brings both a state of the art knowledge and experience to cancer care, as well as a knowledge of family situations and resources. When patients get a diagnosis of cancer, they and their families are referred to a variety of specialists, and have to navigate the fear and uncertainty by themselves. Having a Cancer Treatment Coach guide you through the next steps can bring an immeasurable sense of comfort, in interpreting what information you already have, and providing guidance through your oncology consultations and treatment.
